Learn to make a traditional Black Forest Gateaux with our qualified patisserie chef in our state-of-the-art Edmonds Baking School.

Experience a 2.5-hour, fun, hands-on class where you will:

  • Learn to successfully make traditional black forest gateau
  • Step-by-step instructions will be provided with demonstrations by our expert patisserie chef
  • Make and bake a delicious chocolate sponge
  • You will make the Morello cherry mixture, chocolate cream filling and cream 
  • Fill with delicious sour cherries and cream
  • Learn to pipe the cream into spirals, decorating with shaved chocolate and cherries

What to bring:

  • A fun, can-do attitude!
  • A water bottle might be nice
  • Nothing else - your apron, equipment and ingredients are all supplied
This class is an advanced class suitable for 16+ years. We can accommodate a slightly younger baker if they are experienced but please check with us first. Please note we are unable to cater for alternate dietary requirements. All our recipes use Edmonds Flour or Edmonds Self-Raising Flour and Chelsea Sugar. We do not have any nuts in our baking school. We are happy to send the ingredients list for any class if you would like to check anything.

Cancellation Policy:

Due to ingredient, preparation and labor costs incurred in advance of the class, cancellation of attendance must be made a minimum of 24 hours in advance or payment becomes non-refundable.


No-shows or last minute cancellations are not refunded


Should the class chef be unavailable to conduct their baking class due to personal reasons or illness, all attendees for that class will be notified at the time.
